Overview

Aloha Island Grill is a vibrant Hawaiian restaurant nestled in Spokane’s North Monroe district. This unassuming spot brings the aloha spirit to the Pacific Northwest with dishes that balance authentic island flavors and comforting familiarity. From the moment you step inside, you’re drawn into a casual, friendly environment where customer service shines as brightly as the food.

The menu is a well-curated celebration of Hawaiian staples and creative takes on classic dishes. Signature items like the Spam Musubi—a beloved Hawaiian snack—stand alongside hearty rice bowls featuring Teriyaki Chicken and Kalua Pork slow-roasted to tender perfection. The Katsu Pork Small Plate and Volcano Chicken add layers of savory crunch and bold spice, highlighting the kitchen’s skillful blending of textures and flavors.

Sandwich lovers will appreciate the Teriyaki Chicken and Kalua Pork sandwiches served on locally sourced kaiser rolls, each layered with grilled pineapple and the sweet-savory tang of teriyaki sauce. These sandwiches encapsulate the essence of a Hawaiian plate in every bite and showcase the kitchen’s dedication to fresh, thoughtful ingredients.

Side dishes like sticky rice, Hawaiian mac salad, and the often-overlooked but highly praised pea salad with cashews and bacon provide satisfying complements that deepen the dining experience. These sides highlight the traditional roots of the cuisine while keeping things accessible and comforting.

Aloha Island Grill also caters to families and groups with generous meal packages that make sharing the island’s flavors easy and festive. Whether you’re stopping by for a quick lunch or planning a gathering, the space supports a relaxed, community-focused atmosphere where locals and visitors alike can savor the taste of Hawaii.

Frequent diners emphasize the warmth of the staff and the consistently generous portions that leave many with leftovers for the next day. The restaurant’s unpretentious charm and genuine hospitality create a welcoming vibe that turns first-time visitors into regulars. Despite its “hole in the wall” appearance, Aloha Island Grill delivers an elevated dining experience deeply rooted in Hawaiian tradition and local love.

Those new to Hawaiian cuisine will find comfort and discovery in equal measure here, while longtime fans appreciate the depth and authenticity of the menu. Though located in what some describe as a rougher part of town, the culinary quality and inviting service make a strong case for venturing out of your usual routine. For anyone seeking Hawaiian flavors far from the islands, Aloha Island Grill offers a delicious and heartfelt escape.

The food was really great and the staff were super freindly! They helped us order and were very patient even when we changed our order a couple of times! The food was even done before the time they said it would be so that was super great! And they gave us extra napkins, silverware and tons of extra sauce!

I come here as often as I can and it never disappoints. Very hole in the wall type place but you won’t regret trying it, plus customer service is always the best. This time I got the garlic chicken and mac salad, mac is A MUST. The serving sizes always leave leftovers for the next day and the girl that is usually there when I go in always keeps up good conversation while we wait.

Wish we had a Hawaiian place in the TC so anytime I can get to a place like this I am excited. The workers were super kind, and the Kahlua pork was all I hoped it would be (huge servings too). Also everyone always says maca salad for Hawaiian places, but this place's pea salad is delightful. Will definitely go again when in Spokane.
